La Déesse m’a séduit

The first post on 73corners is a vehicle that influenced me very early. Even though I couldn’t pinpoint exactly why this car was so special as a young kid in the 1980’s, I always knew it was different from all other vehicles at the time. Adjusting the ride height at the flick of a lever was witchcraft a magic feat of clever engineering and instilled my love for low(ered) cars, because it looked so much better when hunkered down in the park position with the rear wheels almost invisible.

Since 1897 the word stance referred to the positioning of the feet while playing golf and the figurative sense of point of view and attitude to a topic or object was first recorded in 1956. Whether or not this correlated with the unexpected presentation of the Citroen DS equipped with hydro-pneumatic suspension at the Paris Motor Show in 1955 is mere speculation. Now in the 2020’s the word stance describes how the wheels are positioned in relation to the body of a vehicle.

This blog will feature all kinds of vehicles – but none of them will be at the ride height it left the factory with. Lowered or lifted is the name of the game as I love playing around with different styles and don’t limit myself to any brand or genre. As of now there is no plan where this journey will eventually lead but as the old German saying goes: Der Weg ist das Ziel.
